I love Boho, the whimsy of it makes me happy. If I have a client who wants something a little bit out of the ordinary that looks like it wasn't born yesterday, I'm all about it. Maybe because I'm getting older, but I think the world needs to be just a little more relaxed without being so concerned with perfection. After all, it's the little imperfections that make things interesting, even in our homes. Especially in our homes, and what could be more natural than green?

Green has a marvelous way of making us feel like we've somehow touched the simplicity of nature without actually going anywhere at all. It's just uncomplicated and Lord knows
we need that right now.
You may not be aware, but most greens act as a neutral color. I know right, I was shocked too but green goes with just about everything. It's a God thing.
So how should we go about choosing an ethereal green, a wild earthy one or the green that just about slaps your face when you see it? Look no further than your floor.
Flooring is always a color of some sort, it may be orange, coco brown or somewhere in-between. Got tile? Look at the base color. Is it gray, cream, white or sometimes even a little pink? The stronger the color of your flooring or furniture, the more intense the color can be. How about a high contrast with very light flooring that can look striking against deeper colors?

The hue of green you pick should depend on the undertone of your flooring. Look at photos of the color you love and notice the flooring or rug colors. Greens with gray undertones will look best in areas with lots of natural light. Greens with slight yellow hues will do well in places with less natural light or north facing rooms.
Always, always throw paint samples on your floor because this will be your telltale. Whatever base or tint you have in your paint will show up there and you should be able to tell if it's a good match. If you have golden undertones in your floor and furniture, paint with a slight tinge of umber will compliment it nicely.
Put the paint swatch on your furniture, countertops, cabinetry and every conceivable surface that has any area to it which includes your sofa and rug. Go to the paint store to get small samples first then you can order larger ones. I recommend clients get swatches from Samplize.com. They are peel and stick actual paint so you can put them everywhere.
There's no better color for making you feel fresh and natural especially in the dead of winter. So you GO GREEN GIRL!
